However our relationship with the hearing industry stretches back much further with our first involvement nearly 70 years ago with the first wearable vacuum tube hearing aid in 1937.

Our first production facility was opened in the USA in 1963 with a second hearing aid battery production facility opening in the UK in 1989 to serve the European market.

Recently Rayovac as a corporation have made a number of acquisitions including VARTA Consumer Batteries, Remington Products and Spectrum Brands. This has resulted in the name of our US Corporation Rayovac being changed to Spectrum Brands where it trades on the NYSE 'SPC'. However all our brand names and all existing legal entities in Europe and Asia-Pacific will remain as they are.
